AEP Is Coming — Here's Why the First Two Weeks of October Matter Most

Every year, Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs October 15 through December 7. During this window, you can switch Medicare Advantage plans, move between Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare, change your Part D drug plan, or simply confirm that your current plan still fits your needs for the coming year.

But here's what most people don't realize: the real work should start before October 15 — not on it.

Why the first two weeks of October are the best time to act

Insurance agents get early access to the next year's plan details before AEP officially opens to the public. That means if you connect with an agent in the first two weeks of October, we can already start reviewing what's changing for next year — new premiums, new drug formularies, new provider networks, new extra benefits — while the rest of the country is still waiting.

Here's what we can get done before October 15:

  1. A full needs analysis. We'll talk through your health, your budget, your priorities (extra benefits? lower premium? specific doctors?), so we know exactly what we're looking for.

  2. A prescription check. We'll review every medication you take against next year's drug formularies, so there are no surprises about coverage or cost in January.

  3. A doctor and provider check. We'll confirm your current doctors are still in-network for next year — or help you find new ones if your plan's network is changing.

  4. A side-by-side plan comparison, done early, calmly, and without the pressure of a ticking clock.

Then, when October 15 hits:

We already know which plan you're choosing. We submit your enrollment right away — quickly and confidently — instead of scrambling through the holidays trying to compare a dozen plans at the last minute.

The payoff? You get to actually enjoy the rest of your year. No looming deadline hanging over Thanksgiving. No last-minute stress in early December. Just a plan you already know is right, locked in early.

If you want to get ahead of AEP this year, let's talk in the first two weeks of October — before things pick up. I'll do the research, run the numbers, and make sure you're ready the moment enrollment opens.

Book your early AEP planning call for the first week of October — let's get this done early, so you don't have to think about it again until next year.
